When you embark on a design journey with Piece by Peace Designs, you’re not just hiring a team to reimagine your space—you’re partnering with experts who guide you every step of the way. We have worked extremely hard on our process so it benefits our clients and streamlines project work. We are proud to show you what you can expect from our thoughtfully crafted design process.

Phase 1: Connecting with You

Whether you’ve found us through a referral, online, or by word of mouth, we’ll schedule a brief 15-20 minute discovery call to get to know you and your needs. During this call, we’ll gather your contact details, talk about your project goals, and set up a face-to-face consultation. The two-hour consultation is where the magic begins! You’ll meet our full design team, and together, we’ll dive into your aspirations for the project. Prior to the consultation, you’ll receive a brief questionnaire to help us learn more about your style, needs, and vision, and we’ll review your answers, brainstorm ideas, and discuss timelines, during the consultation. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how we’ll work together—and maybe even a small gift to thank you for your time! Once we know your goals from the time we spent together at the consultation, we’ll draft a tailored proposal that outlines the scope of work and project fees. You’ll have time to review this document before we meet again to discuss it in detail. If everything aligns with your vision, signing the proposal officially kicks off your project!

Phase 3: Executing the Design

With the design approved and finalized, we will create detailed documents for contractors, including plans, elevations, and specifications. These are used to gather bids from trusted professionals who will execute the construction. We review all bids with you, ensuring clarity on costs and timelines, so you can confidently select the contractor that best suits your needs. Simultaneously, we will collect quotes for all materials, furnishings, fixtures, freight, and delivery costs. We’ll compile those onto an invoice for you to remit payment. Once we receive the funds, we will purchase your items and manage the entire procurement process on your behalf, ensuring items are inspected upon arrival and stored safely until installation day. You’ll receive updates along the way, and we’ll handle any adjustments, like reordering if an item arrives damaged. Once the contractor is selected, construction begins! We’ll stay involved by coordinating schedules, visiting the site to oversee progress, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Key milestones, such as plumbing, electrical work, and tiling, are closely monitored to ensure everything aligns with the design plan. As construction wraps up, it’s time for the big reveal! We will coordinate delivery and placement of all furnishings, décor, and accessories on your behalf, ensuring every detail is perfect. We expect and deliver a transformation that’s as seamless as it is stunning.

Phase 2: Developing the Design

After the proposal is signed and the design fee is settled, we roll up our sleeves and get to work. Measurements of your space are taken to ensure every detail is accounted for. Our team will also take “before” photos and videos to document the starting point of your transformation. Next to take place is our design direction presentation. This exciting 2-2.5-hour meeting is where your vision starts to take shape. We’ll review mood boards, discuss budgets, and schedule future milestones, such as the Design Presentation meeting and when we’d ideally like to start construction and/or install furnishings. By the end of this step, we’ll have a clear creative direction for your project. The next step is where the magic truly unfolds- the Design Presentation! During the time between these meetings, our design team will be diligently working on turning their design concepts into reality, and compiling samples of the materials they will propose for your design. We will then present 2-3 of these thoughtfully curated design concepts, complete with materials, fixtures, and furnishings, and any samples we can find of those selections. Together, we’ll refine the options and finalize the selections that bring your dream space to life.

Phase 4: Project Wrap-Up

To celebrate your beautiful new space, we schedule a professional photoshoot for our marketing as well as to share with you. We will also compile a project binder with everything related to your project- the design presentation, construction drawings, construction documents, warranties, maintenance, and even samples. To further show our thanks for trusting us with your home, you’ll also receive a personalized thank-you gift from our team.

We’ll check in a few weeks later to hear your feedback and see how you’re enjoying your space. That’s not where you’ll stop hearing from us! When you trust us with your space, you are a client for life, so expect a card on your birthday, anniversary, and around the new year.
